Volunteer Information

Our volunteers are the people who provide the help. There are two types of volunteers - duty officers and drivers.

Duty Officers

Once every two months Duty Officers take the incoming calls (requests) from our Clients. It is their job to match a Volunteer to the request for help.

Duty Officers are on duty on the same day every other month, e.g. the second Friday in January, March, May, July, September and November, but duties can be changed with another Duty Officer, by mutual consent.

Drivers

Drivers are not usually called on more than once a month.

They are not expected to change personal arrangements to fit in with Chorleywood Care and can therefore, decline to take on a job. In this case the Duty Officer will contact another volunteer.

Our drivers are insured for third party liability by the organisation.

Maintaining the Service

We are always on the lookout for additional volunteers, so if you are interested in helping, please phone Peter Briscall on 01923 284783.
